Norm is leaving Yorkshire and heading home to Scotland!

Post by NormanDunbar »

Just a quick update for anyone waiting patiently for another exciting episode of the somewhat irregular Assembly Language eComic.

I'm delayed, as usual, and as of about three hours ago, officially homeless in England! Alison and I have exchanged contracts today with our buyers, so we are moving back up north to Scotland where we first met 30+ years ago!

We will be renting for a while until Alison finds her dream home, by the sea. And there's a lot of sea in Scotland!

I'm also slap bang in the middle of two new books in my Arduino "trilogy" - and I use the term in the Douglas Adams manner there - "Arduino Assembly Language" and "Arduino Uno R4 Software Internals", so more delays are likely.

However, I shall do my best to get something interesting out "soon". In the meantime, I'm having a gin and tonic, a double!

Cheers,
Norm.

I'm on my way, from misery to happiness today, ahah, ahah, ahah!

A Proclaimers lyric seemed appropriate :)

And there's a lot of sea in Scotland!
Mostly around Scotland, we like to keep the land above the sea generally!

Do we need to warn the Scots you're heading back? ;)

Seriously though, I'm sure the assembler comic will be just as interesting as usual, no matter which side of the border it hails from.

Hi Norman,
We have moved many times, all the best and hope you find your dream location.

Moving
Everything packed and in motion,
Where moving to a new location,
But I just had to phone,
It’s about our new home,
I’m totally lost as to what direction.

Historical Coracle
This Historical journey quite key,
To Iona across the open sea,
In writing this oracle,
About a coracle,
And four Monks from the Isle of Anglesey.

Just to keep you smiling.

Morning all.

Just popping in for a quick visit at stupid o'clock in the morning, while I'm the onlynone awake, and while we still have internet!

Thanks for all the kind words, poems and, ahem, Proclaimers' lyrics! Hopefully I'll be back online properly soon.

We have a small property to rent, in Buckie, for a while until we find a suitable house to buy. Broadband is via a mobile adaptor thingy, and erratic! :(

Cheers,
Norm.

Nice. Buckie is one of the areas on my list when I’m looking for my forever home in a few years time, though anywhere on the Scottish coast would be good. Just not sure how welcome an Englishman actually is in lovely Scotland

Anyway, hope everything goes smoothly and you find a good place to call home

I always thought 'buckie' was a drink brewed by Monks in Devon and consumed almost entirely by young scots folk... :P

I see what you did there! :D

Buckie is a port, not wine! (Which is stronger than wine though!). Buckfast is the wine, much loved in the lowlands/central belt of Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland and, indeed, many parts of England too. A fortified, caffeine enriched "tonic" wine? No thanks! No longer made by Monks, made under licence in various parts of the Untied Kingdom.

Cheers,
Norm.
