Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :)

hAHAHaHAhAHAhaha!!!

We'll, it's not easy cause the membrane are broken, so I pressed F2 by shorting with cables :-D
Then, a red screen appeared, and a nice flashing cursor, yeah!!!
I tried to write the following:

Code: Select all

DIR MDRV_1
But it's so difficult... I need to know how to erase a character. Where is it?
In the Spectrum you had to press CTRL + 0, but I don't know how to do it in the QL.

DIR MDV1_ is correct.

No, it is easy and logical. Pure Sinclair:
Backspace - CTRL + left arrow
Delete - CTRL + right arrow

No way, 1 hour and I have no way to write:

Code: Select all

DIR MDV1_
the problem is the underscore ( _ ), I don't know how to get it, but I'll need 2 cables, not 1.

One question: if I put a MDV into the QL and then turn it on, must the QL show something special on screen?

If you put the microdrive cart in before pressing f2 it might auto run if it has a boot program on it :)

Hi Bubu,
You have underscore _ in your photo of your keyboard. Press shift and the key which has - and _ on it. You really need the beginners guide which came with new QLs.
Use the shift key to access all top characters on the keyboard.
Godd luck..
steve.

Hi again,
If your membrane is faulty, change it. This can be troublesome, So consider on add-on keyboard which is much more robust.

No... :-D The thing is that I have no membrane, so I have to "press keys" by shorting J11 and J12 with a cable. E.g. F2 is (J11=1 + J12=4). That's easy (althoug very work). But the problem is with CTRL or SHIFT + any kay, as I have to use 2 cables at the same time...
