I just added a SGC to my QL and have found that Microdeal QL Flight Simulator won't run. When I load and try to run the simulator, the screen very slowly loads with graphic blocks, the MDV spins endlessly, and the program never gets to a launch screen.
If I remove the SGC, the program runs great. Does anyone know if there are some settings I can try to get the program running with the SGC. One possible issue: the SGC auto boots into F2-monitor mode. Microdeal flight simulator runs best in TV-F1 mode. Is there a way to have the SGC boot into TV mode?
Thanks, Tom
Microdeal QL Flight Simulator and Hardware Conflict?
Re: Microdeal QL Flight Simulator and Hardware Conflict?
Probably a memory / code relocation issue. Try RES_128 to set the QL+SGC into unexpanded mode. It will reboot immediately after you issue this command. If you want to have an option to boot into F1 (monitor) or F2 (TV) mode, type AUTO_DIS. There's also AUTO_TK2F1 and AUTO_TK2F2 to automatically boot into F1 or F2 mode, respectively. All of this is described in the TK2 manual, available from the QL homepage / Dylwin's web-portal.

The AUTO_xxx commands are actually in the Super Gold Card manual supplement, not Toolkit 2 as such, in the section ENABLING TOOLKIT II & AUTOMATIC BOOTING.Wimdev wrote:Probably a memory / code relocation issue. Important to note that the AUTO_TK2F1 and AUTO_TK2F2 enable Toolkit II as suggested by the command names. AUTO_DIS turns off Toolkit 2 according to the SGC manual, which may be useful if Toolkit 2 upsets a particular program in some way (handy also if you want to test a program runs without Toolkit 2!).

I think the current version of the Microdeal Flight Simulator works (as sold by me) - did you get your existing version second hand or from me?lowrybt wrote:I just added a SGC to my QL and have found that Microdeal QL Flight Simulator won't run. In the end, the key is to use the RES_128 command before booting the program. Launching it from 3.5 floppy is wonderfully quick.
