Hello everyone from Madrid, Spain
Just to introduce myself as the owner and user of a 1985 QL with a Spanish keyboard. It replaced the Spectrum in its day, and I used it extensively
for several years. After that, it was stored away for many years until some time ago, when I decided to reconnect it. It worked fine except for the keyboard,
which was unusable. I debated whether to sell it or not, and finally bought a membrane keyboard and also the Tetroid clone. And given the poor tuning with
modern monitors/TVs, I also bought a Scart/HDMI video converter. My pending tasks are the mouse and getting familiar with it, and if possible,
upgrading the hardware for ease of use.
Best regards.

Hi, Hello from Asturias!
Happy to read that you decided to not sell the QL.
With the video and the Tetroid clone you have a good point for start.
One additional upgrade you shall have in mind, is a Hermes chip, if you consider that the keyboard still not going well with the new membrane.
For a mouse, probably the easy way is to got a qimsi, this include a very good SD card interface, and a PS2 mouse, so two bird in a row.
also easy, is a serial mouse and cable for convert the connector.
The other alternative is a qimi adapter, but no easy to get.
Un saludo!.

Hi asturiano,
Glad to find you here, mate, and thanks for your welcome and suggestions. The keyboard works fine,
and even the two microdrives work fine. Well, the hardware, because the cartridges...are a different story.
The truth is, I've put a request on the waiting list for a Qimsi Gold, which seems like an excellent
solution to my shortcomings.
Well, I'll see you around. Saludos cordiales

Re: Hello from Spain
Welcome! I have both an original QIMSI and a QIMSI Gold (not on the same QL obviously!). Great devices . The micro-SDHC cards are so convenient for storage and transfer to other systems.

Hello from Reus (Tarragona),
As you will discover in this great forum, QL still has a large group of enthusiasts who continue using the system and creating wonderful hardware and software. In Spain we are just a few people, but very active, looking forward to get in contact.
You made the right decision by not selling it and starting to catch up. Enjoy!!!
Te lo vas a pasar muy bien. EL QL es una máquina que da muchas satisfacciones, y en España tenemos un grupo de usuarios pequeño, pero muy activo.
Saludos
