What is the size of the included SDHC card?

The smallest possible because we can't use all of it anyway. It's a 4GB Samsung.

Thank you for making these available, Paul. I hope you will be able to make more available in the future.

I hope to buy one later when I may have more time to install it and learn to use it properly.

Yes Dwilyn, there are definitely more coming.
I had some more problems with the actual batch (obviously a bad day for soldering as all parts are the same as in the last batch) which gave me quite a lot of frustration.
I am still hoping to get better tests before the last step. After adding the rom socket it is very difficult to get anything repaired as all parts are below it.
Also I need yo get better optical utilities. Maybe a stereo microscope for finding problems in an early stage. Just hunting for shortcuts is definitely not enough.
I hope to get a batch of ten ready every month. In February unfortunately only three of ten are working.
Maybe I get some repaired. But with the money from these three I am buying more parts. I have plenty of PCBs at home to make a lot of QLSDs.
Kind regards
Paul

Thank you, Paul. Your work is very much appreciated.

Good luck with the assemblies.

Having just ordered one, I'd best start thinking about the QL it's going into :) At the moment it has no microdrives. Can I just have the SD in on it's own or will I need to fit the old microdrive back in to go with it?

VP,
QL-SD has no dependencies on microdrives whatsoever. It just uses the same space (and screws ;) , so you'd better find them...)

Thats good, so I can just run with the sd as MDV1 and no MDV2? :)

VP,

Well, it then runs with the SD as "sdc1_" occupying the space of "mdv1_", to be precise. :D

Note, however that if you would ever intend to re-install one of the microdrives (or connect an external one), you either have to use the slot of mdv2_ or jumper-bridge some connections of the mdv1_ connector. The microdrives are internally daisy-chained together and if you remove one at the beginning of the chain (i.e. break that chain), the later ones will cease to work.

If you're not using microdrives at all (and don't intend to), no need to care. Just place the SD daughter board wherever you like (that doesn't even need to be a mdv slot - Its just a nice place - If you find a better place to home it, can easily be done).
