Hi again :)
Jbizzel wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 10:19 am Just to add this this, r13 won't format either.
....
So I can write fine to the drive.

But format fails.

Although, is it really an issue? When will I ever need to do it!
So strange... I am doing in my system and it doesn't fail. it formats the images properly.
May I ask which ROM do you use in your QL? how to do you command the format operation?

Jbizzel wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 10:19 am When cycling through the menu with R13 you get and annoying message when you get to the end of the folder contents. I think this is a known issue. So I think I will go back to v1 firmware.
It is exactly what must do. I programmed it to give a message when the end of directory is reached.
Nothing bad on it. Some users prefer it, others not.
In any case, thanks for your feedback, I will try to do it optional.
Jbizzel wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 10:19 am Can you flash the firmware with the Pico attached to the QL please?
Hummm... you should not.
but I do with mine.
So if you do it, that is under your own risk. :)

Hi, thanks for the support.

The command I used is

Format mdv1_

Making it optional would be a cool addition.

The other thing that I think would be good, is keeping the name of the cart on screen when the cart is ready.

I often forget which MDv I have in place.

But the firmware is great and it's nice to have such wonderful hardware for the ql

You are welcome,
Thank you for your feedback.
I will test it again in my QL, I use Minerva, what do you use? and also important, which error do you get?

About it :)... with RCs... have you try to press central button? :) then the name will appear.
Also I thought about keep it fixed, but finally to keep some coherence with original firmware I decided to implement the central button to show the name.
That way the user knows that something is loaded and not selected, that is pretty different. I could make it show the name in different way, but by now.. I think this is a good way
Please to watch the videos that I have made for that purpose (User guide I is one of the most completed about how to use cartridge)

Hi, I have Minerva ROM

The error message is usually

Format failed.

I also have a 512ram in the expansion port.

Another suggested feature would be to hide the window system volume folder in the menu :)

I like that suggestion.
I need to study it since its name could be mixed up with other names and result in problems (maximum length for FAT is 8 chars + ext).
It seems possible, ... and also I dislike this folder a lot!!!

A little improvemen would be to carve on the STL (no idea how difficult is to do) with the symbols.

For Leds, have you used SMD with cover or TH leds?
