Hi,
Murray spent a long time compiling 27 pages of info on the OPD. Much of this has ended up on various sites but none are complete. I had a copy in print form but nothing on the PC. I thought ... quick job - just scan it all - run it through an OCR program and dump it into Word. 3 evenings later I finally tamed it. This copy is all Murrays. There is some mis-heading, Two Appendix 4 for example. I think he originally typed it up at work and printed out on a daisy wheel - this was around 1990, remember. Some of the graphics were made up of characters. The OCR didn't take well to all this prehistoric stuff.
I was going to insert some updates and pages of my own but decided that some topics would make a chapter of their own so I would do 'update' pages as time permitted. I could then add more depth and photographs.

Thank you for your efforts, KINGCHEF!
I have an old and battered OPD waiting to be tended to for a friend, so this compilation will help very much

Echo that - I've found some useful info on the bits of his notes I have found

Re: Murray Mcabe OPD 'Write Up'
Much obliged. Thanks.
I dont have an OPD, not have I ever owned one, but I did work with one waaaaasy back when I was an ICL mainframe tech in Aberdeen District Council. We had a QL and an OPD in the office. The QL was used for desktop publishing for the Union (NALGO aka UNISON) newsletter. One of my fellow techs was the union rep.
Some bedtime reading for me, I think, now.
Cheers,
Norm.
