In the market
Re: In the market
I just discovered another unzip program that is half the size of the standard QL unzip at only 59K. It doesnt seem as versatile as the infozip one, but might be useful where memory is tight. I think it came with QLC? I didnt find any manual, and only tested it briefly. It might be useful for that initial bootstrap into a new BBQL, so perhaps it could be made available as a stand alone program?

Re: In the market
Could you package it up to add to my site, please Per. Or let me know which compiler it was with.
There is Unzip 0.96 on my site's Archivers page, which is already suitable for 128K systems. Would be good to have a choice.

This Unzip 0.96 is from Jan and dates back 1990. It is installed in QL/E for ages. But while tring to unZIP some ZIP files at hand, it failed, see screenshot: Anyone?dilwyn wrote: Fri Feb 09, 2024 3:56 pm There is Unzip 0.96 on my site's Archivers page, which is already suitable for 128K systems. Re: In the market
The notes against this on my Archivers page state:
https://dilwyn.theqlforum.com/arch/index.htmlUnzip 096 - An older, smaller version of Unzip which may run on an unexpanded QL. You may need to use the QZ utility available on this page from the same author to adapt some DOS .zip files (see notes in QZ package regarding MSDOS filenames, for example). This version of Unzip only supports the deflate compression method for zipped files, created using zip -Zd or equivalent

Re: In the market
Hi,
I used Jonathan Hudson Unzip SFX programme, just copy the binary file to a Qubide partition on a Tetroid TDI CF card, with the Habi Editor.
Just load the binary file into memory and call the memory location , this produced a unzip executable.
But QL files can be transferred by the QL Network, which saves all the Messing with file headers.
Or use FLP image file and use FDI to read the image file.
