I see me in one of the ZX-83 pictures (from when Urs came to visit a few weeks ago - hello Urs). Pleased it's a blurry shot of a projector screen, as it wasn't my best side/day . Also visible is my 1985 mono Highscreen monitor and Marion the mother-in-law's table and chairs.

The ports on the German/US QL have tiny numbers on them, check with a magnifying glass. When you look into the SER1/SER2 from the outside - pin 1 is top right, pin 5 is top left, pin 6 is bottom right and pin 9 is bottom left.

I renamed this post since I came across another odd hardware item that I'm trying to track down. Saw this picture on a Reddit post.

I already have the boards, so I will mod them according to the pictures in the other thread.
And I might order a few new ones if Alvaro made the changes. I will check his GitHub.

I was planning to order a few of the Kludge boards designed by Alvaro. Seems like he has done a neat job. Chr$, did you verify that the dimensions are close enough to the original?

I bought a vacuum former a while ago and I would like to make some casings as well. Unfortunately I don't have an ...

Finally made and tested. It doesn't work, then I checked and even removed the LS00 socket from the real one just to make sure. The traces under it aren't right. Here is a pic of a real one (top) and your reproduction.

I wonder if it's old electrolytic cap problems on the drive PCBs, they can go bad with age and that may well result in it not spinning (and other potential faults).

In the past I've dremelled out the resin/epoxy and put in a new battery under the red square lid. It's tricky and you have to be very careful, but can be done.

Got it, yes it's the same as the uncorrupted version I got hold of.
