Just recovered.....

Hi all,
I managed to recover a couple of things from microdrive last night that I hadn't seen archived anywhere.
The first is a toolkit, that is labeled on the cart as "complete_tool", when booted it comes up with a menu offering the sub components that can be loaded :
Character routines, 16 bit binary converter, Graphics routines, Icon routines & Sprite and music routines.
The second is the Tracker disk, that is the driver software for the Miracle QL MIDI interface.
I'll be happy to upload them, if they are not already archived.
Cheers.
Phill.

Hi Phill,
The first is the Smiling Toolkit (from Smiling Software) - I am pretty sure this is already preserved...
But the tracking software for the QL MIDI is definitely needed if you could email it to me please
Rich

The toolkit sounds like the Smiling Software one. They also made a mouse system, called Smiling Mouse, which was a cursor emulating mouse with a small circuit board which plugged into either EPROM or joystick socket (or both, can't remember which).
Tracker software - there is a version on the Misc software page of my website at
http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/misc/index.html which IIRC has a couple of doc file manuals which mention v1.31 - might be useful to add the version you have if different.
This type of second hand hardware always seems to turn up second hand without software and manuals hence why I decided a long time ago to try to make replacement manuals available.
Example: I've just bought a Cumana disk interface, don't know if it'll come with a manual, luckily there's a Word doc of it on my website.

Right, fair enough I got that cart from a friend years ago (late 80s)

Announces itself as 1.31 on boot, so may well be the same I've emailed a copy to Rich, lemme know your email address if you want me to send you a copy as well.
