Computer Shopper QL articles for scanning
Hi there,
I have found my old folder of pages ripped out of Computer Shopper magazine from the '80s, covering the "Sinclair Scene" section. Oodles of QL (and Speccy) related material that perhaps most people here have not yet seen.
As I don't think that this is currently available on the various QL archives (correct me if I'm wrong), I thought I'd donate it to the cause. I'm not in a position to scan the pages myself as I only have a slow single page at a time HP printer scanner dating from the stone age, so if somebody is willing to do the job, I'll happily pass these on.
I thought that Rich and/or Dilwyn might like to add these to the wiki and docs sections of their respective sites?
Note: Computer Shopper was printed on very low quality paper so I'm not sure how well these will turn out. Also, all pages have hole punches in them and the side that was attached to the magazine spine is of variable neatness depending on the issue...
Rich, Dilwyn, interested?
JY

Yes I am interested, but may struggle with getting time to scan them at the moment. If anyone else wants to take this on, fine, if not, I'll take them and do my best with them.Sparrowhawk wrote:Hi there,

I have a scanner and some time!
Happy to scan and convert to PDF whatever you have. Shame to lose it.

Re: Computer Shopper QL articles for scanning
Hi Rich,
Sorry, I only saw this yesterday just after I came back from the post office.
I have oodles of old computer magazines in the loft which undoubtedly have QL articles/listings in them. I'll have to go through them at some stage and scan the more interesting ones. From memory I have:
Complete set of Micro Adventurer
Near complete set of Your Computer (did not bother with the last few as by then the mag had degenerated to such an extent as to be worthless)
Near Complete set of Sinclair User (possibly complete, I forget)
Complete set of New Computer Express
Complete set of QL World and quite a few QL user ones too
Complete set of QL Adventurers' Forum and QL Technical Review (I think the full set of the latter) and some IQLRs
Loads of Popular Computing Weekly mags
A few odds and ends (Amstrad and Crash mags for example, a few fanzines, etc)
So I don't expect to be going through the lot of them in one go or anytime soon!!!
Dilwyn, the package of CS pages also contains the extra DVD of ZX Computing stuff you requested. Enjoy!

Micro Adventurer and Sinclair User(and Crash) are already available as full scans on the internet. I did full of scans of all the QL Adventurers and the first two QLLRs but there might only have been two though.
