Could this be the future for easily scanning QL Magazines and books?

Nice! Bet it's pricey when it's released though.

I just looks too clumsy to use to me, squeezing the book between the four support legs and messing about keeping the pages flat enough

, give me a decent res, fast flat bed any day, although I don't appreciate the drivers for mine no longer useful as they are not supported any more for the system I use. So i am actually on the lookout for one.

I know this was sometime ago, but I am ploughing through my unread posts, it never actually became a viable item although there were some available in the European market.
Having looked around for some alternatives, they are very expensive professional devices or a Heath Robinson kit that you assemble yourself with very little instructions. So for all that QL magazine scanning, it is still using a flatbed scanner or you camera phone with our software.
Unless someone knows of some thing else to make it easier?

Ideally the scanner would take a scan and also measure the distance of each scanned location to work out the curvature then de-curve the bits at the spine.
I'm sure I once saw software advertised that claimed to do this but I have never seen it since!
