I thought the Text Adventure and add graphics are in the same category.
But I can not alter the poll since there is an entry

A new game for the QL ?
Sounds like fun .
Just to be a pain what what specification of QL are you thinking of for this game 128K BBQL or something a bit more powerful ?
I.E. - screen res ? colours ? monitor / TV ? memory ? input device ? ROM ? Minerva ?
Developing a new game to run on the QL core on the Spectrum Next could be interesting given the potential user base with a desire for new games.
and a much more powerful machine to run a game on.
I'm not one for nostalgia so something that isn't a clone of an old game would be more interesting. That said something that had elemnts of civilisation type games with a dash of tech trees, strategy, exploration and the like would be ideal.

Graphics vs platform games? I guess Asteroids or Donkey Kong are graphics whereas something like Mario Brothers are platform? Where does a game like PETSCII Robots fit in, where you move the character but it's the world that scrolls underneath you?
P.S. I like games designed for the BBQL. Andrew's QStar comes to mind as an exceptional addition to the QL library. I think his Pitman also fits the bill. Not sure about QL Batman...does it only require extra memory or does it need acceleration?

Extra memory, the almost standard 512k does the deal

The classics are great. Dig Dug, Bubble Bobble, Bomb Jack, Lady Bug, Donkey Kong, Moon Patrol. Bit more advanced are games like Zaxxon for example. A game I was really addicted with was Age of Empire II, not sure if sth like this would be possible on an expanded & accelerated QL.

I voted for platform games, but really anything is great!!!
It would be good for some sort of game making tools would help many games get made.
Look at ZXGM for the spectrum - you can now made platform games with a zero code approach.
Or a version of Quill that supports graphics and has some of its issues fixed - although all the tools in the world cant help my bad spelling
