QPC2 v5: QPC_RESTORE does not work

To run an alarm program, it is neccessary to have QPC on top (WIN 10). So I have tried the keywords QPC_MINIMIZE and QPC_RESTORE.

QPC_MINIMIZE does work, QPC_RESTORE does not. What can I do? Is there a solution or a workaround?

RalfR,

You probably have QPC2 set to Suspend under Power Management in the QPC2 dialogue. Set it to On (and reboot) and youll hear the alarm even when QPC2 is minimized. The same, I presume, goes for QPC_MAXIMIZE: It probably wont work if QPC2 is suspended.

No, I have set it to "AN" (ON) not to suspend. Perhaps I must set it to "Aus" (OFF)?

Yes, when I set it to "OFF", it works. Thank you. So, where is the difference between "ON" and "Suspend"?

Im not able to reboot QPC2 right now, but my current setting is "On", and that works for me (also W10).

According to the QPC2 manual:
The second option determines how nice the emulation plays with other applications when it comes to
CPU consumption. If “Power management” is turned off, the emulation runs as fast as it can, consuming all CPU power it can get. This setting should usually be avoided. If “Power management” is turned
on, the speed of the emulation is reduced if you’re not actively working with QPC and SMSQ/E is not
doing anything. The “Suspend” setting takes this one step further and completely halts the emulation
when the QPC window is minimized. This might be of use to conserve the last bit of battery power in a
laptop, but usually the “on” setting is good enough

I assumed that (RTFM.... :D ). So it should work if set to "ON", but it does not. It is also the question, how much CPU power QPC uses, if it is just in the task bar.

Ok, all tested (just the programs from the demo WIN running + QDiary):

QPC with "ON" = 15% CPU Power
QPC with "OFF" = 15% CPU Power

Same when in task bar. So "OFF" seems to be usable by me.

My system crashed so I had to reboot anyway. Tested all variants on W10 and W11, they all work as advertised here with QPC2 V5.02, English version, full screen mode..

To see how much juice QPC uses try the Windows Task Manager (Press <Windows key> + R and type taskmgr<ENTER>)

Does it work for you with just "ON" and QPC running in a window?

Ah yes, the emails dont change with edits..

Yes.
And youre right: There doesnt appear to be much difference between On and Off, but there may be conditions we cant test where it does matter.

So it works for you but not for me. Should I understand this...?
