- SOLVED - trump card and qubide on a backplane , how ??

i can not get a trump card and a qubide to work properly on a backplane .
removed the ram from the qubide , and played around with the addressing jumpers .
i can not find a jumper setting which allows both cards to work correctly ,
Has anyone tried to do this ? and with what settings ?

I would also check on the backplane , if it has a common 5V rail. Some modifications to the cards would be needed if 5V is supplied.

Hi,
The Trump Card uses all the I/O and extra memory space on the QL, only leaving the ROM Port area at 0C000h
To use other memory locations, a standard memory expansion is required or a (Super)Gold Card, which handle the memory space differently.

Be aware, that if you use a Minerva ROM that also incorporate the TK2 in the cartridge area, you need to disable it (it's already in trump card, anyway). because this area is need for the qbide.

ram on the qubide is removed , minerva rom is without tk2 .
so problem must be all address space required for the trumpcard .
luckily i can use tk2, minerva ,qubide and a qdisk interface ( with 128k less total memory ) without problems .
was hoping to get the trump card in .

But just removing RAM will not stop the DSMC/DTACK decode on qubide potentially clashing with Trump card in same memory area
(Or have I taken you too literally

- is there a RAM disable link)

no disable option unfortunately , so ram chip is removed , and the gal too .
and that seems to work ( that side ) .
but still the combo as described fails to work correctly .
i noticed that one of my trumpcards is missing 128k , so maybe the previous owner solved the " problem " that way .
the new minerva pcb i am preparing has a tk2 disable jumper
working with these older computers is always a challenge .

if i minimise the memory on the ace card , then all is working .
so with 640k .
if someone has info on how to add more memory , please let me know .
