Today in 1981, the ZX81 went on sale. Today, 40 years on, they still have a use.

It came from a Commodore64 fan!

I loved my ZX81. I gave it a keyboard with proper keys, 56K additional RAM everything my student grant (and Access card) could afford!

Cheers,
Norm.

An interesting video. Thanks.

You certainly have a lot of space for your old computers!

Norm.

Happy Birthday ZX81...my first computer.

I'm starting back to working on the http://ZXSimulator.orgfree.com. My new plan is to finish it on my original QL as I just figured out how to compile again using microdrives and multiple source files --i.e. how I managed it back in 89/90. Except it'll be vDrive instead with all the same speed but not the headaches of failures.

Written in BASIC. Not having DATA statements was a right pain as I had to enter the large text "image" data directly into the mutli-dimensional arrays.
