So I'm just registered and immediatly start to ask...
I’m here to find the answer for a very curious problem.
I’ve just upgraded my QL with a Minerva 1.98 Rom (and also a Hermes chip). Now the loading time of _scr pictures from floppy drive has become almost 3 times slower (about 8-9 seconds). The loading time of other file types and programs remains the same; anyway there are no appreciable delays.
If I remove the new Rom, and put the previous one (JM), the loading returns to 3 seconds, as usual.
So what’s wrong? Has anyone else experienced this?

do you see any other effects than the slow loading from floppy? Are any other operations with Minerva slow?

Nice to meet you, Petri.
Actually the whole system speed has accelerated with Minerva (graphics, boot etc). If there is some other operation affected, I haven't found it yet (or the slow-down is not appreciable). For the moment only the loading of uncompressed images seems affected.
But I've just the suspect that the copying of the same images (from floppy to Ram) is not affected... I'll make some tests...

Try entering POKE!!53,128

It should restore the loading speed. You'll have to enter it after reset, or put in boot file. For more info see:
