As the QL-SD interface is mounted in the QL it is difficult to disable it other than opening the QL and take it out and insert the ROMs again.
Sometimes users want to use a dongle or mICE interface.
So we added a feature to new built QL-SD that will be available shortly on SMR.
You can add a switch that disables QL-SD. Then you can use the romport again loading programs via micro drive or floppy. The manual still has to be updated to include this new feature.

That sounds perfect, as I have an old mICE I was planning to try out

Please note this also disables the QL-SD hardware registers, not just the driver ROM.
So even if you load the QL-SD driver from floppy, the QL-SD interface can not work with mICE.

Finally four QL-SD with this new disable function are now listed on SMR.
I also offer 10GBP off if buy a QL-SD and a RAM Card from my SMR listings.

April is a VERY busy month for me. New QL-SDs are expected for May 2015.

Well it seems to be may
But there is no need to worry. Five new QL-SD are listed on SellMyRetro.
These are the last five standard PCB's I have. After this there will be a new version which doesn't look as cute but is easier to produce. The look isn't THAT important as it's built into the QL
So if you prefer the original look make shure to be quick. The new interface is identical in features and has a shielded SD Card holder with push-push mechanism.
