Hi Folks,
I have windows 8.1 on an ASUS PC. Zooming using the tactile-screen is effortless and of high quality...

I'll check as soon as I can. I only get brief periods on the laptop just now. If it's not the dog, it's Alison!
Cheers,
Norm.

Re: QL on the Raspberry Pi...?
Hi Marcel,
So, with 800x600 and 1.5 magnification, giving me 1200x900, everything works fine with both drivers, I saw no problems with a normal workload. Likewise when I run in fullscreen mode, no problems with both drivers and everything looks fine.
I think I can safely say that regardless of the option I choose, both drivers work perfectly well on Linux under Wine 5.00.
Cheers,
Norm.
my usual resolution is 800x600 as I like to have QPC open when I'm writing stuff for the eMagazine. If I'm doing anything else, I usually have max selected.mk79 wrote:Do the drivers behave differently when you maximize the window (i.e. have more than 1x magnification)?

I would be surprised if the DirectX stuff in wine was lacking because it’s funded by a company that sells wine for running games.

Re: QL on the Raspberry Pi...?
Direct3D is a frigging complicated API, mapping that to another API, including all the vertex shader and pixel-shader stuff (QPC's are as minimal as they can get, but still), is nothing short of a miracle if you ask me.
Anyway, all my Mac and Linux machines are headless and Wine doesn't seem to like that very much, so I can't test it myself. Thanks Norman!

Re: QL on the Raspberry Pi...?
Hi,
My Linux Mint 19.3 X64 on a Fufitsu Core i7 (probably 1st Gen) Laptop, setup uses Wine for QPC2, but DirectX is not installed.
The DirectX installation is quite complicated in Wine, so I do not bother.
I checked my version Wine which reported v3.60, quite an old version. So I updated to the current stable version at WineHQ, which installed Wine v6.01
When I ran QPC2v5, Wine had to install Mono which is supposed to run .NET apps... Not that I have any.
Anyway all working fine with QPC2, with 1920x1640 zoomed to 1024x512 in window mode.
I am never sure whether to use QPC2 or SMSQmulator, both run the
same SMSQ/E version.
But Inhave been using QPC2 since v3.33 registered.

Thank you for the update, I just read the Wine docs on WineHQ, if seems that Wine support up to Directx 12
I will try this out and see...
