Great work by you and Gusman, I will order PCBs when you have tested after all the changes!

Regards
Chris
Thanks,
It is just some improvements (I hope) by the real work (developing) is all on Dr. Gusman.

News... boards in productions already.
:)

About the rails on the upper case, I saw how Dr. Gusman solved it (not sure if compleately but for sure helps).

Tomorrow I will post Gerbers and photos how it looks (the prototype in production ver 1.4) and changelog.
Of course, any suggestion is welcome.

If any of you wants one of it, I could organize a bunch mounted and fully tested (Driver + cartridge). In case there are enough people interested about it to make shopping by lots.

Keep in mind, it is retro-compatible with original version.
So no need new cartridge if you have it already, ... but you are going to regret to don't grab one

Ah, you must have version 1.0 from PCBWay, haven't you?
Yeah... this is a great solution, but IMHO needed some little changes. And it is what I am good at.
I am awaiting (probably next week) the boards from my version 1.4 from to manufactures (PCBWay and JLCPCB) and if both works fine and fits perfectly any position without any change (MDV1 & MDV2) I will publish GERBERS and everything same day than verification is done (and OK).

At any case. I will offer these boards (empty) for just manufacture cost, or mounted (ready to connect, with RBP incluided) and tested for 20€ - 25€ (driver & cartridge) + shipping cost.
Sooo keep tuned :)
Thanks both for your opinions and suggestions.
ASAP I finish this project... :)...

I would like to just... see about an accelerator for QL. Just... just... to know how hard it is.
Cause also I want to participate in improvements for a HDMI2RGB project (already functional) for any retro-computer from Marcelo (Argentina). So, little time :) (And yes, I love to dream awake).

Hi popopo

I'm following your project and development and very impressed what you and Gusman achieved , glad to hear you will offer bare PCB and ready made for those that prefer that.
I will be interested to get one and I guess a lot of others will as well. Thank you for your and all others that contribute to the community.

/Chris

Sure!

But I would like to clarify something...
The only thing I am doing is to redesign what is working well already in order to solve some issues that I consider key to make it perfect.
Re-design the boards, delete some problematic staff (IMHO), changing some other parts (and now studying the firmware to update it if there were a bug).
All the hard work is from Dr. Gusman.
He is the architect... I am the decorator.
Of course yes, those changes I am doing make a long shoot.
Give Unto Caesar What is Caesar's and Unto God What is God's' :)

Ah! at anyway... to order your own boards with the Gerbers (5 kits: Driver + Cartridge) is just about 10€ (shipping included, if you are in UE) directly from JLPCB o PCBWay. Maybe it is more suitable for you than to get a PCB from me. Keep it in mind.

Cheers

You just need to add audio functionality now, so it sounds like a Microdrive. ;-)

I have a circuit for that. Hehe. (It's just an ATTiny85 which plays an audio sample whenever it's energised. On the vDrive I used the activity LED.)

Sounds nice,
By now we want it as cheap as possible and simply. Because the noise is a question of preferences.
It is pretty easy to add it, but... increase the complexity and the cost. That part, is a Clive philosophy matter, affordable, low cost, easy and efficient.
It could do much more... using a board with Bluetooth or WIFI (future version perhaps end of 2024), with same board (just changing the RPB) be capable of use your phone (ie) to load cartridges, or another computer, or upgrading the firmware... etc.

But ... not now. I encourage you to take this idea and implement it. For sure some people would love it. Why not?
