Do you think it severely limits sales that PayPal is the only payment method?
(I wouldn't own a QL-SD this way.)

In my view, no. I'm sure most retro computer folk are extensive eBay users, and PayPal is pretty much standard nowadays. I get fed up when PayPal isn't available, to be honest!

I find that most people use PayPal for ordering - Moneybookers / Skrill can sometimes be useful, but I know of at least one German customer who emailed me about the QL-SD and said that they would rather pay by bank transfer - bearing in mind that for people in the Eurozone this is probably cheaper for Paul....

I think paypal is the norm now rather than the exception

But as far as I remember, you don't offer credit card or bank transfer, so there is no comparison.
Within the Eurozone, I find bank transfer the best.

Actually I offer a range of payment options:
- Moneybookers / Skrill
- Nochex
- PayPal
- Bank Transfer
- Cheque
- Western Union
- Cash
- The problem with international bank transfers is the charges - my bank charges me £12 (I think) to receive a foreign payment even if it is in GBP - take into account foreign currency charges and it is only worth while if someone is paying me a large sum (£100+) unless they are in the UK.
No, I don't accept credit cards as such - the monthly charges for the equipment alone do not make it worth while.
However, PayPal can be used for credit and debit card payments - if I send a PayPal invoice, the user can simply enter their credit / debit card details directly into the PayPal site without needing an account. I can accept payments over the phone, by basically sending myself a PayPal invoice (to an email not associated with PayPal) and then entering the credit card details then and there - the only downside is the time it takes!

I have the opposite problem
I would like to order a battery replacement from Dave. I found the shop and tried to buy, but he seems to only accept credit card, no paypal.
I really avoid using credit card if possible. Paypal seem much safer (to me).
But I get your point. You are not the only person I know who had problems with paypal.
By the way, if I am asked I always agree to sepa payment.
Which is the actual euro transfer way.
I just don't know how to set this up in sellmyretro
I would be happy to add this to my listings.
Kind regards
Paul

I have no idea what sepa payment is - just go to
http://www.sellmyretro.com/userPayMethod (when logged on) and enter your bank account details in the box for Bank Details - that will allow users to see that as a payment option when they go to pay for an item.
You will need to edit your listings to add the extra payment method too....
