You might consider a writeable ROM - such as a FLASH ROM - so you could load your own software without needing to remove the chip, program it, and then insert it back - and also - if you do go the route of using an EPROM - then consider (if it will fit) using ZIF sockets.

NOTE - as far as I know - there is no public free software to write FLASH for the QL - but it certainly does not mean it's not possible.

If ZIF sockets are what I've been calling IC sockets Prof, then yes that's what I've asked for.

The QFlash Chip board never came to the marketplace, TK Computerware, never seeme to confirm it was available.

I did buy a battery backed ram board, which nearly worked.

TK did list an eprom expansion card for 4 months which I took to be that, I think later in '87.
Edit - checked Nov edition. Listed with the memory boards.

There were 2 designs - an original concept to hold 4 16k that you could swap in and out using software control then it was revised 2 months later as a 3 x 64k board for larger software or two boards could be slotted together for the maximum 256k.

I decided to give up on the idea of getting software transfered over to rom, I had the fanciful idea of having a handful of cards with m/c apps and games on just for the hell of it.
The Sinclair rom card looked like something that could be easily exchanged as it has the hand grip, but I am probably way off on this and it was more a "fixed" item.
