New Forum
Re: New Forum
I use the newer version of edge at work on a PC and don't notice any heavy resource usage - at home I run firefox on Windows 7, and again have not noticed anything out of the ordinary apart from the dozen or so tasks firefox insists on spawning - and that's after a full trim down of the plugins and other 'goodies' I didn't want being removed.
Re: New Forum
While trying to view the Forum on Chrome on my Android phone, two issues arise which didn't on the "old" Forum.
1. Clicking on any thread brings up this menu at the bottom instead of going straight to that thread - is this meant to happen: 2. The typing box's green border is wider than the visible screen, with the background grey ending about 5/6 the way across the screen, with some objects such as the emojis list going either fully or partly off-screen. Trying to type text like this, the screen starts to pan across until you reach a word break, sometimes not far enough and you are "typing blind" for a bit:

Yes that shows you have the tapatalk app installed and can read the forum in it.dilwyn wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 5:03 pm While trying to view the Forum on Chrome on my Android phone, two issues arise which didn't on the "old" Forum.

Re: New Forum
Don't knowingly have Tapatalk on my phone, unless it's accidentally installed without my knowledge???
Extra "feature" on Android: when attaching file the Place Inline option is in light grey on white, almost impossible to read.--

Re: New Forum
I think youve hit a bug in chrome then! (or google has been paid for dodgy advertising like normal).
What happens when you click on open?

Seems to have stopped happening.XorA wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 6:24 pm I think youve hit a bug in chrome then! (or google has been paid for dodgy advertising like normal).

Does Tapatalk install as a regular app or s browser extension or something (so I know to check in the right place if I unknowingly have it installed?

Re: New Forum
Hi,
TapaTalk gets asks for by the Forum software when the browser does not know about the Forum web site, or the local cookie have not been saved.
It does not matter whether Tapatalk is installed or not.
Browsing the forum on a mobile phone is hard due the forum menu only displays the category titles and not the latest message.

Re: New Forum
Hi,
One thing I have noticed the Forum software does a white screen flash before loading the main screens.
I noticed this on an Android Tablet, thought it was Brace-Browser being slow, but Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera all do the same.

Re: New Forum
Not only that. If the PC is still quite busy, the forum will only appear in white, which probably means that there is a lot of graphics being worked on.
