I'm the chief cook and bottle washer here unfortunately.

Only other employee at RWAP headquarters is the ever present guard dog and I wouldn't trust him with the sensitive electronic equipment.

I'd like to think that guard dog was like K-9 but made from QL parts.

That auction is going for big money now! :o

I wonder who bought it?

We will probably know in a few weeks time, when someone comes on here asking how to fix Gold Cards and remove inches of dust / rust from motherboards!

People of the Forum!

There is a seller on eBay who is selling 68000 kits saying, MC68008FN CPU + 128K SRAM,128k EEPROM, ideal for designing a 68000 based Microcomputer.

I've downloaded the build document from here https://sites.google.com/site/designyourown68000system/ and the document looks impressive albeit mainly schematics and block diagrams, all the IC lead outs seem to be there. Just looking for other thoughts, if it would gather dust or worthwhile exploring. You can see the bidding here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Design-your-o ... fresh=true

The kit consists of
MC68008FN10 PLCC52 CPU
128K SRAM DIP32
128K EEPROM W27C010 DIP32
64K EEPROM PLCC32
GAL16V8 PLD
7805 5V Regulator
All DIP/DIL/PLCC sockets
10MHz Crystal

I don't know what half of these bits are but they sound good.

What I would like to know is, is it worth getting and tinkering or does it look like a scam?

Some of the parts are useful, but most aren't applicable to a QL even if you have quite a lot of knowledge. That said, the combined price for the parts, those you can use are still reasonable. I have bid on two copies of this auction but always been outbid.

I now prefer to go for individual parts, because I know specifically what I'm looking for.

Ends in an hour or so, reserved price of £500, a bit pricey and too high, still not sure the significance of D16 other than a later model.
