Nice design! Is the 16 bit data bus of the 68HC001 used for RAM? Is shadow RAM at ROM address $0 available ?

no 16 bit bus use except for video to the fast vram inside the fpga, sprite engine use 64-bit access to sprite ram.
The first 128K of the ram ic are mapped at higher address as video ram for the 256 color modes.
