I got one of these - mainly because it had a 9 pin serial port on the back, but the small size makes it emmintently portable which is handy when flashing boards like 3d printer control boards, without having a big cumbersome laptop balancing on things. I do need my glasses to see the screen though! :-) :geek:

The GPD MicroPC 2 I have ordered does NOT have a serial port (AFAIK). My GPD Pocket 3 can be configured via a special port to have a serial (RS-232) port. I have not used it yet(!).

No problem on Windows (albeit I always now need glasses when working with computer displays): Right click on Desktop, Display Settings->Display->Scale and Layout then choose e.g. 150%. Works (for me) nice with QPC2 and 800x600 and in QPC (start) settings menu in Window and choose Max. Unfortunately this most probably will not work with the MicroPC 2, cause it has only 1920x1080 while my (much older!) Pocket 2 has 1920x1200 (and it looks much more nice than the MicroPC, e.g. full metall housing, smaller, ... i.e. more sexy).

Mine was probably the model before - Windows 10 pro - Celeron 600, 8G RAM, 256GB SSD, Gigabit ethernet, dual band wifi, bt 4.2 and rs232 port - also comes with USBC and 3 USB3 ports - and an amazingly clear but small 6" screen.

Today I received ... the keys to our new house in Dyke, a small village near Forres up here in NE Scotland. It's taken three years but we've finally found a house! The bad news is, the mobile phone reception there is worse than it is here, so our hope of mobile broadband working better than here have gone straight out the window!

We move in properly on Friday 12th, so if I don't have a decent signal, I may be missing in action until we can get a proper broadband system put in. The house is wired for Sky and Open Reach, so there's hope!

Cheers,
Norm.

Thanks all. Today (Friday 12th September) is our actual moving in say. It's also our going offline day.

Catch you all later.

Cheers,
Norm.
