The SuperQBoard version 2 was apparently produced in a severely downgraded (crippled?) version only partially populated as the "SuperDisk" interface. I recall seeing some messages on the mailing list that indicated how to upgrade that version with the missing parts to the full one with mouse and memory.

There are several documents which may prove useful here:
http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/docs/hardware/index.html

1. "Circuits". A selection of text files showing most of the pin out connections of the QL & SuperQboard.

2. "Interfaces Guide". An article from IQLR magazine by the late Denis Briggs, listing most of the early QL disk interfaces and other cards, complete with simple diagrams to aid identification. The diagrams are PIC files to go with the QL versions of the document.

3. "Keith Mitchell Hardware Documents". A series of ASCII files drawn up by Keith as he has serviced some QL add-ons over the years. All should be viewable on an 80 column screen as they are basically plain text files.

4. "SuperQBoard Modifications". A set of text documents from Keith Mitchell about upgrading a SuperQBoard interface: the mouse interface, PALs and ROM upgrade and piggy back memory upgrade

There's quite a lot of overlap in some of these documents, I suspect various files have been merged over the years.

Hi Dave,

I was going to ask how connect the mouse connections, but the files that Dilwyn recommended, Keith Mitchell has already done the hard work and details the changes to be made for the Mouse connections.

The port next to the Floppy disk is a Parallel Port as Rich indicated.

I notice that there are a twin set of soldered in points next to the QL Expansion connector:

Can a daughter board for a memory expansion be fitted there?

I also own a super Q Board mouse Issue 3. It was modified years ago.
Is that modification necessary/good or not?

A memory expansion for the board would be great!

You can clean out the holes and put in a socket strip to create a riser for a memory card or any other card within the power limits and space limits of the QL.

Adding the mouse option is all TTL logic plus one programmed PAL as I recall. It also had a different EPROM.
