Hi.
To be precise I use "Unzip 5.32", dowloaded from Dilwyn website (the version with a BASIC loader since I can't run the unzip541xq.bin version).
I have help displayed if I only enter ew ram1_unzip but the screen scrolls so I can read all the help (how to scroll lock the screen ?).
Moreover ...

Re: Running processes and available memory ?
Hi Tobias
...ram disks grow dynamically with the amount of files you put there...
That's it ! The more I write files on ram disks, the less RAM remains that explains why I eventually run out of memory.
I always thought the RAM disc size was pre-allocated.
I will do the trick with DATA_USE and ...

Re: Running processes and available memory ?
Hi Tobias.
Welcome - but don't call the QL an 8-bit computer. People might get upset ;)
Actually I didn't meant QL is a 8 bit computer (since there is a 68000 inside as the MacIntosh 12 days later), but I meant "I have no such problems with other computer from my collection which are 8 bits ...

Running processes and available memory ?
Hello.
I'm a newbie with Sinclair QL (although I deal with several other computers from the 80s, mainly 8 bits).
I recently got a Tetroid interface card with Minerva ROM, built-in Toolkit 2, floppy disc interface and 768k extra memory.
I'm currently trying to extract some programs from disc using ...

Re: UNZIP problem
Hello.
I have a QL with a Tetroid (disc controller + 780k memory), and have problems using the -d option.
Whenever I write something like
EW ram1_unzip; "-d ram2_ flp1_program_zip"
or
EW ram1_unzip; "-d flp2_ flp1_program_zip"
I get the "xxx not found" (or something like that where xxx is ram2 ...

Re: Hello from a new French Sinclair computers collector :-)
Hi Guys.
I started to read some documentations ("It's not rude to point" by David Denham and "The Pointer Environment Idiot's Guide" by Norman Dunbar) which answer lots of my early questions.
Since I have an HxC drive that I can connect to my Tetroid card I wonder how I can feed my QL with the ...

Re: Hello from a new French Sinclair computers collector :-)
Hi Dilwyn.
Yes I had a look at the English book (actually a black binder) that come with the computer.
For what I understood it mainly deals with the SuperBasic and the 4 microdrives office software that also comes the computer.
Perhaps I missed the part about "hard drive" and "auto-start ...
