Re: Twin Floppy Doubts

I have found the cable - see PM.

It may be too short for you - the distance from the interface connector to the first floppy drive connector is 12" (30cm)

Thanks Rich.

Cable received and tested: all working fine. I now have a working twin 3.5 inch floppy system, correctly responding to flp1 ...

Re: Twin Floppy Doubts

Hi Adrian,

Twin Floppy Doubts

Hi all,

I'm about to embark on connecting a second 3.5 inch floppy drive to my existing system, and I'm having doubts as to the proper arrangement of jumpers and cables.

For the first drive, things were pretty straightforward: straight portion of PC floppy cable; jumpers ds1 -> ds0, DC -> rdy ...

Re: Hello from Tunbridge Wells

Hi Again Forum,

I thought I'd let you know that I've got a floppy drive up and running now: hurrah! I've written/saved/loaded my first program (straight from the QL user guide, as a test) to and from a vintage 3.5 inch floppy and drive combination.

For new users interested, I mostly followed RWAP ...

Welcome, Adrian. It's nice to see people acquiring QLs and getting them to work.

Thanks Dilwyn,

It's interesting isn't, to see dead computers come back to life. Honestly, this was all just whim really, but it's becoming surprisingly addictive getting them going and reading up about decades old ...

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for the feedback.

Thank you, and no problem for the feedback, it's a good product.

Thanks for the welcome. With regards the current setup, we'll see: I'll say it's a good setup when I've compiled and run my first program for the QL!
