I guess I didn't say (out-right) that my QXL is installed in a machine, so I'm good.

My main "problem" was that some time ago I managed to lose the install disk
but I had compensated by keeping a copy of the software on several backup
drives - and all is still well with my setup ...

Okay, question:

How do I tell my QXL to format a 720K disk rather than a 1.44mb one?

[ I have some 720k disks, but they are MS-DOS formatted ]

- It keeps trying to format a DD floppy as a 144 mb and fails ...

If I can test both images, then you have two more tests done.

Can "we" get a DOS QL emulator (QLay) "talking" to a QXL
running SMSQ directly thru the serial ports of the respective ...

QLay doesn't appear to "like" either of those image files, and
I had decided to make one "mdv" with some of my own programs,
using a "copied and Q-emulator formatted" (Quill) mdv file, but
QLay didn't work with it, either. :(

Trying to get a DIR of the "mdv" essentially hangs QLay, but the
4 ...

I think someplace I saw a reference to a "bin" file that was a "make_dir" extension.

I think my main problem is ... do I have Toolkit II on my SMSQ /E ?

I suppose I could try a WCOPY command and if it fails then I know I don't have it.
